1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site operating independently of every government office. We do not store official records, conduct an official check, retrieve files, or submit documents for a user.

Its purpose is to identify custodians of Marengo County criminal records, including the sheriff, the Circuit Clerk, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency criminal-history repository, and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Sex Offender Registry, while also providing access to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Each user agrees not to:

• Use the service in violation of federal, Alabama, or local law
• Harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate any person with information found here
• Use site content for an FCRA-regulated decision
• Attempt unauthorized entry into a system or account
• Deploy a bot, scraper, or other automated collection tool against the pages
• Interfere with site speed, availability, or another person's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Harassment, stalking, intimidation, threats, and unlawful discrimination based on information from this site or a linked tool are forbidden. The rule applies especially to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Sex Offender Registry information. Alabama Code section 15-20A-8 governs the public registry, and section 15-20A-21 governs community notification. Registry information is for awareness, not confrontation or vigilante action. Suspected noncompliance should be reported to law enforcement. No separate registry-harassment penalty is asserted here because the research did not locate an official citation for one.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and create no background check, credit report, or other consumer report. Neither this website nor its advertising partners provide an FCRA screening service. A user must not rely on this site or a linked tool to:

• Make an employment decision
• Evaluate a housing or tenant application
• Set credit or insurance eligibility or terms
• Decide eligibility for a regulated license, benefit, or program
• Carry out any other purpose controlled by the FCRA

A legally authorized check for a regulated purpose must come from the proper official or FCRA-compliant channel, not from this site.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General descriptions of Marengo County records cannot determine how an Alabama charge, warrant, conviction, or expungement provision applies to a particular person. Seek advice from a licensed Alabama attorney.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are supplied "as is." We make no promise that:

• Partner search results will be complete, current, or correctly matched
• The website will always be available without interruption
• Every page will remain free of defects or security weaknesses
• Published information will be accurate, complete, and current at all times

Charges may be filed, changed, dismissed, restricted, or expunged, and agency procedures also change. Gaps can occur. No content here is an official statement by an Alabama court, the Marengo County sheriff, or another government body.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may open government offices, Alabama court portals, legal resources, or outside search services beyond our control. We are not responsible for an external site's content, privacy practices, price, accuracy, or availability. Review its terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Marengo County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, distribution, alteration, or derivative use requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss or damage arising from site use, including reliance on content or an outside service reached through a link.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to defend and hold us harmless against a claim, demand, or proceeding caused by that user's conduct or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Alabama law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in Alabama. Government records referenced here remain subject to applicable access and confidentiality law, including Alabama Code section 36-12-40 and the limits imposed by other statutes.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. A revision takes effect when the updated terms are posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend, restrict, or end access at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining terms continue in force. The affected text will be modified only as needed to make it enforceable.
